Y'all! If your local public library isn't in the Hoopla game yet-TELL THEM! This is an AMAZING resource for libraries! Basically, it is like Overdrive or Libby, but for non-book materials such as CDs, Audiobooks, Graphic Novels, and Movies! All of the wonderful non-book materials that you would normally have to go into your local public library for have been made digital and put into one place! Isn't that wonderful? I took this information from the Hoopla website, "hoopla digital builds on that passion by providing public libraries of all sizes the ability to offer patrons an enormous selection of digital video (movies and TV shows), music, audiobooks, ebooks and comics to their patrons. For these libraries, we’ve pioneered a unique model that allows patrons to borrow content immediately, removing artificial availability constraints and maximizing the power of digital content and Internet distribution. Technologically, we focus on the latest browser, phone, tablet, and TV products to deliver the best possible experience to our user – our passion – the public library patron." Personally, I'm stoked about using it. It makes finding graphic novels so much easier. The catch is that you only get four check-outs per month, but they can be any of the resources I mentioned before. The photo below is of what I checked-out while laying in bed the night of January 31st. "That's pretty random, Steph, why are you telling us this?" Well, friends, because I didn't want my four check-outs to go to waste, so I perused for some graphic novels that I haven't read yet and checked them out before my allotted check-outs were lost. They don't leave your account until their due date, not the end of the month, so I gained some extra time, feel me? No, Hoopla did not pay me anything to write this blog post; I just wanted to share another awesome library thing that I learned about with y'all, so go give your local public library some love! Hoopla is available on the App Store, Google Play, Amazon, AppleTv, and ChromeCast. ![]()
