This is one of my library lessons that I taught to students. Focus is on Google Docs, Slides, and Gmail.

This week I end my summer and start anew. Again. For the third year in a row. This school year will be my third year in a library (as a full time librarian) and it is also my third school and my third district in three years.
Pattern? Not really. I don't think that anyone goes in to a school year thinking that it won't work out or thinking that their goals will change, but things happen-life happens and we leave. My first library was amazing in a ninth grade campus. (We served 1,200+ freshmen every day.) But right before the school year started, I got engaged and we were planning on moving to Austin before I had taken the job. So as the school year progressed, I knew that Austin was my end-goal. My second library was in a full comprehensive high school in an amazing district with awesome students and awesome support, but realized that while I loved secondary-middle school is my heart. I LOVED working with freshmen and teaching them research skills, but I felt like I needed to go back to roots-younger kids, to really show what I'm made of. So I left. Again. Now I am starting a new year in a middle school that I've heard is "schooltopia" with one full-time clerk, great support systems, and an excitement and willingness to prove myself. I've got so much knowledge to share and fun ideas that I want to put out there and see what kids think. I've had so much disappointment in the past that with my two TLA awards, I've felt like with the skills and passion that I have, I could do more. So that's what I am setting out to do. My third year will be my best yet and I can't wait to share it with y'all! What are some of your goals and thoughts on this new school year? Check out this cool collage that I made using badges that were sent to me this year as well as some that I made with Canva. I made the collage with PhotoGrid. I'm pretty proud of myself! How did your school year go? What accomplishments are you most proud of?
So today I got myself super excited about the Wrinkle In Time movie (I'm going to pretend that Oprah isn't in it and just ignore her.) and thanks to an awesome article with 21 Memorable A Wrinkle In Time Quotes I found a gorgeous quote that I wanted to save. Have any of y'all ever used Canva before? It is a graphic design website where you can make AMAZING graphics that look professionally made. I've used it before when I was in charge of a school's ENTIRE website and had to make pretty images, and I use it occasionally for quotes and Instagram posts. I even used Canva for my wedding save-the-dates and invitations! Anyway, back to the A Wrinkle In Time. Using one of the amazing backgrounds from Canva and one of the quotes from the article, I made this: Isn't it pretty? Canva is AWESOME!
Show me how you have used Canva with a comment or tag me in a post on Twitter or IG (@lispylibrarian)! HOLY COW!! Last post, I told y'all that I had reached my goal of 80 books for the year, and now that 2017 is officially OH-VA I can share my final results: 94 BOOKS!
Here is the list of the 14 that weren't already listed:
